Apache Hose and Belting Co., Inc. Completes Acquisition of Seals Unlimited, Inc.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - September 1, 2011 Apache Hose & Belting, Inc.continued its expansion with the purchase of a Hillsboro, Oregon-based company.

The Cedar Rapids-based manufacturer and distributor of fabricated belting products, conveyor belting, and industrial & retail hose products acquired Seals Unlimited, Inc. on September 1, 2011. Seals Unlimited, Inc. is a manufacturer of rubber extrusion, rubber moldings, gaskets, and hydraulic gate seals for both government and private industries.

Tom Pientok, Apache President and CEO said of the acquisition, ''We have a very deliberate and focused growth plan. Strategic acquisitions are a critical component of the plan. The acquisition of Seals Unlimited expands our product offering, gives us vertical integration into molded products, and provides our company with a location to better serve our distribution network in the west and northwest.''

Pientok said Seals Unlimited, Inc. will continue to operate from its existing facility in Hillsboro and operate under the Seals Unlimited brand name. Founder Thad Fair, who started the company in 1987, will remain under contract with the company.

The purchase is Apache?s fourth strategic acquisition in less than 4 years. In addition to the Seals Unlimited purchase, Apache acquired Hose Central, a Pennsylvania-based competitor, in November 2007, Ex-Cel Belting, St. Louis, Missouri in December 2008, and AG Belt, Inc., Des Moines, Iowa in April 2010.

Apache Hose and Belting, headquartered in Cedar Rapids, is an employee-owned company founded in 1963, a market leader in fabrication and wholesale distribution of hose products, conveyor belting, fabricated belting products, and retail industrial products, and will now employ more 240 worldwide. Apache awarded Community Partnership Grant

June, 2011 (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Apache Hose & Belting, Inc., is pleased to announce that as part of its strategic Green Initiative, Apache has applied for and received a $10,000 Community Partnership Grant from the Cedar Rapids/ Linn County Solid Waste Agency. Grant awards are one-time payments of up to $10,000 for materials and/or equipment for waste reduction. The CR/LCWA is an intergovernmental organization whose mission is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our community by providing cost-effective and environmentally-sound practices for managing solid waste generated in Linn County.

The grant is available to Linn County communities, and businesses to help in their efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Apache requested the grant money to purchase a 60-inch vertical baler to compact plastic wrap which will be recycled by City Carton Recycling.

Our goal is to collect and recycle an estimated 48,000 pounds of plastic wrap, banding and bottles generated annually at Apaches Cedar Rapids location. As a corporate citizen Apache is committed to improving the community for our employees and their families by reducing its carbon footprint.

April, 2011 (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Apache Hose & Belting, Inc., headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is pleased to announce Connor Deering has joined the executive management team as Vice President of Sales. Connor brings nearly 20 years of industrial sales experience, a majority of which was with Mueller Company, a division of Mueller Water Products, Inc. In his most recent role, Connor was the Vice President & General Manager of the Gas Products and Services divisions. He has held various sales positions within Mueller including National Sales & Marketing Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Territory Manager. Connor holds a BS from Ohio University and an MBA from Millikin University. Connor will be responsible for sales leadership across all Apache operating companies.

Tom Weisenstine has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Tom will be responsible for product management and marketing functions. He will also pursue opportunities for expanding business both domestically and internationally and will be a focal point for acquisition activities. Tom previously held the title of Vice President of Industrial Sales.

Kyle Gingrich has been promoted to Vice President of Operations. His duties are comprised of overseeing worldwide operations including fabrication, warehousing, purchasing, global sourcing, inventory control, and quality control. Kyle was previously Vice President of Supply Chain Management.

Apache was one of 41 companies nationwide to receive the award. To be named a Silver ESOP Award recipient, a company must be a member of the The ESOP Association and have an ESOP in place for 25 years or more.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - April 1st, 2010 – - Apache Hose & Belting, Inc. continued its expansion in the agricultural belting market with the purchase of a Des Moines company.

The Cedar Rapids-based manufacturer and distributor of fabricated belting products, conveyor belting and industrial and retail hose products acquired Ag Belt, Inc. on March 31, 2010. Ag Belt, formerly Capital City Belting, has operated as a fabricator of baler belt since 1973 providing superior-quality products along with one of the premier customer service models in the baler belt industry.

Tom Pientok, Apache President and CEO said of the acquisition, ''It's very strategic. The addition of Ag Belt is highly complementary to our already strong agricultural hose and belt programs.''

Pientok said Ag Belt will continue to operate from its existing facility in Des Moines and go to market under the Ag Belt brand name. Former president Jerry Horton, well-known for his more than 35 years of experience in the baler belt industry, will remain under contract with the Company.

Apache Hose & Belting, Inc. Completes Acquisition of Ex-Cel Belting.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - January 9, 2009 – - Apache Hose & Belting announced the acquisition of Ex-Cel Belting, located in St. Louis, Missouri. The purchase was finalized on December 31, 2008. The combination of Apache Hose and Belting and Ex-Cel Belting brings two of the industry's most respected belt fabrication and distribution companies together.

Ex-Cel Belting will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apache Hose & Belting Co., Inc., and will keep the Ex-Cel brand name, however employees will immediately become active participants in Apache's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) as well as full employee benefits. The Ex-Cel facility will remain in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ex-Cel Belting has been a significant player in the agricultural belt market, primarily serving baler belt equipment, since 1995.

Dec. 4, 2007 (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Apache Hose & Belting, Inc. today announced completion of the acquisition of Hose Central.  The transaction was finalized on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007.  The combination of Apache Hose and Belting and Hose Central brings together two of the industry’s most respected wholesale distribution companies.  

This is a strategic addition to Apache’s retail business and represents a significant step for Apache to accelerate growth in our core business sectors.  Apache will be focused on developing attractive opportunities to increase top-line growth as well as achieve significant cost synergies. 

The implementation will be seamless for the Hose Central customer base due to the successful planning and execution that has taken place over the past several months.  Hose Central will begin shipping product from the Apache corporate warehouse on Tuesday, December 4, 2007.
